Convoy to Kukup and JB on 24 Aug

This convoy comprised of 14 Hyundai cars. Got Avante, Trajet and Getz....

We gathered at the Science Centre at 8am, and collected a healthy and delicious sandwich breakfast set each, complimentary from Junnie. Then set off at around 9 am.

Luckily the traffic at both the Tuas and M'sia custom was okay, so we merely spent only about half an hour in the queue.
At Gelang Patah, we took our toilet breaks and exchanged the foreign currencies.
About 11 am plus, we reached Kukup. My first trip to this town... The whole town were just shophouses and seafood restaurants surrounded by the sea and resembled Penggarang which I have visited. Upon arriving, everyone headed for this seafood restaurant, and placed order for our lunch meal.
Then we took a boat ride to go to one of the kelongs. As it was not my first trip to a kelong, hence, no excitement for me. But for the kids, it was an experience... They got to smell the fishy air, walked around the wooden planks, saw a lot of houseflies on those dead fishes....

I don't think they enjoyed it...

In my personal view, the seafood lunch was not fantastic, as compared to Penggarang or JB...

By 2 pm, we headed to JB Plentong's Tesco Extra. It is a new shopping complex just opposite the Plentong Giant. I did not have much time to shop around the complex, as most of the time, the kids were hanging around at the toy sections....

At 6 plus, we departed from Tesco and headed back to Singapore. It was about 8.30 pm, and phew, i was in time to catch my favourite show - 超级星光大道第二班总决赛 and witnessed the crowning of the championship for 赖铭伟; 1st runner-up 梁文音 and 2nd runner-up 叶苇莛.

Wedding Convey on 17 Aug

Thanks to one of the Avante Club's members; it was his big day, and the club members were so spontaneous in participating in the convoy...

A well-received response of 33 cars! Wow, that was spectacular!

We assembled in the bridegroom's block and headed to Geylang Bahru...

Had a sumptous feast of a well-spread buffet too!

The whole duration of this event took around 3 hours plus....



Congrats to the couple! Yum..... Seng.................!

SkateShoes for the Kok Family

Oh yes! We bought our own skate shoes.

Feel more comfortable wearing own shoes compared to wearing those training shoes which we rented for our lessons!

New Skate Shoes for GK

On Saturday evening, Dad wanted to go down to the multi-storey carpark's wash bay to wash his car, so G and K got a chance to put on their new skate shoes and played at the multi-purpose hall.

They played and skated for about 1 hour plus and perspired a lot! What a great exercise for them!

Sports Day on 8 Aug

It was the National Day celebration cum Lower Primary Sports Day.

We reached school at 7 am for the event. I was invited by GK's form teacher to assist her in the sports event.

The children were grouped according to their houses (Panther, Jaguar, Cheetah and Puma) and they played games like Soccer, Tennis, Basketball and Hockey.

And the champion for this year's Sports Day was Jaguar and Panther as they both have the same overall scorings.

Lucky, cos' G is in Jaguar and K is in Panther... And both of them were Champions!

Well Done!

K Injured on 7 Aug

It happened during the water-break session of our inline skating training. K went to toilet and lost his balance in his skating shoes and knocked himself against the urinal.

Despite seeing the pool of blood that oozed out from his lips, he did not shed a single tears.

We quickly pressed a wet towel on the wound, and after a whilel, the bleeding stopped. But Dad found that the cut on his lip was quite deep, so decided to go KK to get the wound stitched up.

K began to cry only at the time when the doctor and nurses strapped him up tightly and trying to anaesthetize by injecting onto his lower lip so that they could perform the stitching.

He struggled and screamed.

The doctor proposed the alternative of injecting Ketamine into his thigh, and the drug worked very well. Only within 10 counts of the injection, K was already dozing off. And the doctor spent about 20 mins stitching up his wound in the treatment room.

By the time K woke up, which was about an hour later, he was still feeling drowsy and was not awared that his wound has already been stitched up ...


A lesson learnt from this incident : Remove the skating shoes before going to toilet.

11 Aug, 3.07 pm : Sis, if not you lend me 1st... Cos the shop closing soon... I ned to push down... Friday I pass the money to you personally... I really urgent... If not, I can't hand in my homework...

(My reply: wait till Friday when you have the money then you buy)

11 Aug, 3.09 pm : Not that I can't wait for it or wad... is I urgent need tomorrow school reopen le... I got 8 assignment to hand in... Pls...

(My reply: Since your gf is in the same class as you, she should be doing her assignments also. You ask her for help, or go her house use her computer)

11 Aug, 3.11 pm : I broke up with her le... That's why I now on my own..

(My reply : Then why must you wait until so last minute then want to do your 8 assignments. You should have done it earlier...)

11 Aug, 3. 13 pm : That's why urgent... I never hand in I will bar from exam... Tat why I know last min work not good..

11 Aug, 3. 19 pm : Sis, can transfer me? I will show you the receipt... The shop close early... Pls trust me this time...

(I called up both Sim Lim Towers and Sim Lim Square to check the closing time for the shops, and the customer service told me the shops' closing time is 8 pm)

11 Aug, 3.22 pm : xxxxxx (your a/c no). Pls... I really urgent.. Trust me this time.... I show you the receipt.

( I asked you which shop you are going to? Sim Lim Square or Sim Lim Tower)

11 Aug, 3.23 pm : Dunno i must go see... Sis, transfer me 1st can? I will show you the receipt later.

11 Aug, 3.29 pm : Sis, if done transfer, tell me... Let me prove back trust to you... Friday I will sure pass you...

(I replied that I have sought permission to leave office early. I wanted to go with you. Meet you at Jurong East mrt station and go together)

11 Aug, 3.39 pm : I go meet my friend 1st...Can't you transfer to me? Trust me this time... I will show you the receipt later...

(I replied that I also want to go Sim Lim buy something, so meet you and go together)

11 Aug, 3.47 pm : Huh? But if we go other place buy how? Sis... I know you don trust me... But I really need your help then ask you de... I just wanna gain back the trust to prove to you that ... ya, i have do wat i say... Then Friday i pass you back...

(I replied you that I still want to go, cos' i need to go shop at Sim Lim also)

11 Aug, 3.50 pm : I just wanna show the trust in me... Tat why I ask you transfer... Now I no gf no need to scare i give them money or wad...

(I replied that I told you I want to go and see things, and will pay for your RAM when you purchase it)

11 Aug, 3.54 pm : But if changing place to buy how? Tat why i ask you to transfer me... Sis pls.. Trust me how ma... Can really transfer to me.. I don dare to lend money from pple le... since the loan shark i very scare le...

(I replied that if you think very malu for me to go with your friend, then i set off now, meet you directly at Sim Lim, take it as we meet coincidently.)

11 Aug, 4.09 pm : Actually I wanna go buy clothes also... So i need lend 85 from you... sis just transfer me...

(I replied that your priority should be buying the RAM and get your assignments done, and hand in on the next day, so that you don't get barred from exam... Buying clothes is not urgent at all)

11 Aug, 4.18 pm : I wan... But I thinking go other place see also.. That why I need to lend money from you... sis, can just transfer me ... if enough then i buy my stuff if not enough then i save it in my bank.

11 Aug, 4.24 pm : You transfer the money I will confirm show you the receipt and RAM... Sis, really.. I promise...

(I replied and repeated that then let me go with you to buy the RAM)

11 Aug, 4.31 pm : Not I don wan let you go cox I and my friend going else where see also...

11 Aug, 4.46 pm : Sis, can you transfer to me can? Pls...

(I replied that I don't have money to transfer to you. Not my payday yet, so I have to go with you and pay the RAM using credit card)

(I replied that I don't have money now, must wait until next week)

(I replied both i have, y?)

12 Aug, 12.46 pm : O... No la... Just asking if you wan sell how much for slim...? btw, wad colour?

(I replied black colour, no intention to sell. My sons are playing)

12 Aug, 12.48 pm : O.. ok ok cox i wan buy and play.. if on, i nothing to do at home.... do finish coursework then nothing...

(I replied that you used to have a black slim psp also, but you sold it away)

12 Aug, 12.50 pm : Ya, i sold it away to clear my ah long money previous de...

(I replied that so you have already owe the money so long ago liao...)

12 Aug, 12.53 pm : Ya, that's why I never go lion dance le... I just wan a psp to play... i sell my psp but still not enough money to pay back them that's why need to pay additional 500 dollar...

(I replied so you learnt your lesson and please keep away from those friends...)

From the smses, i can feel that you remorse about the money that you owe... but come to think of it, you have never explained why you need those money...and what you spent on? There was no explanation...

Now, you started to ask for money from me again, but your explanation on how and why you need the money is not valid....

I am sorry... I will not give you the money unless you tell me the truth, or let me go with you to pay for the things that you are buying....

Skating Lesson No. 2 - 31 July 08

Good weather for the night! We had our lesson conducted at the basketball court. So much better than the void deck - well-lit, windy and spacious!

We revised our walking with our skates, and moving on with Stride 1 and learning how to do a heel-stop.

At the end of the lesson, the kids' hair were all sweaty, just like though they had taken a shower. It was really a good workout for them....

Forgotten to bring our progress cards along, so will update our results in the next lesson.

Skating Lesson No. 1 - 24 July 08

Due to the bad weather, our first skating lesson was conducted at the void deck of a HDB block.

Our first try on inline skates, very gan-cheong and a bit frightened, cos' were afraid of falling...

But it was kinda of great experience that if we followed the instructions, we were able to walk steadily with the skates....

K had the most number of times of falling, cos' he had not been able to grasp the techniques in maneuvouring with the skateshoes.

Our results : Dad - Good, Me - Average, G & K - Poor....

A Fun-Filled Sunday! (Part 2)

In the afternoon, we went to the Bottle Tree Park. A great experience for all of us to catch the fishes with those small fish nets provided. Phew! Luckily we had a good catch and managed to bring home 50 over fishes...

P.S. : It has been 2 weeks, and now there are now only 4 fish still surviving in our fish tank... hahaha!

A Fun-Filled Sunday! (Part 1)

On 20th July, we participated in the 'Clean & Healthy Community' event organised by the RC.
The boys had fun at the mini game stalls and won about 15 packets of titbits with the help of Dad.

Besides the goodies bag and McDonald's breakfast, there was also a Lucky Draw for 12 prizes. We were lucky to have won the 8th prize - a Akira Portable CD Radio Player!

Lucky day for us!
